New Beginnings

Nga mihi o te Tau Hou!

Hello!,

People don't really write or read blogs anymore (unless its some unusual niche topic or long form article). And certainly there hasn't been any action on this blog in the longest time, but I want a place to practice writing and try things out. So, here we are just me, Uncle Google and the Bots duke-ing it out. Hiya Bots!

I don't know that I've got a theme or a niche or a style yet, but I want to publish without expectations and tutu (play / fiddle) about and see what happens. In the past I've had wild goals that I wrote down and then never looked at again because a big part of me was too scared or nervous to fail or believed I couldn't do the thing. Really I'd just like to be consistent on here and write a little each month.

2023 was a shocking year, so my goal for 2024 is to give all the things a go and see what sticks, and my words for 2024 are Fun, Pleasure, Focus and Health. My plant is flourishing and I can too!

This year I'd like to write about film media and TV, lyfe, art, travel, music, sourdough bread, food, and more...

Over and out x

Can you get to the end of the Internet? 2

I found a few more things you could read, watch, do, or listen to that have nothing to do with viruses or politics, because its nice to change it up when you feel like you've hit the end of the internet. Here's part 2:

~ Read about being a Badass in male dominated spaces

~ Make egg in a hole / egg in basket which my new fave (something about the way the egg kind of fries the bread is really smashing) and the name is so all encompasingly accurate but so mysterious and 80s at the same time.

~ A gentle reminder

~ Check out awful library books

~ Watch the youtube series Never too Small

~ Follow along office space yoga - from Yoga with Adrienne. I particularly like this one because its all standing up and focuses on muscles we use for sitting

~Take your dog or yourself for a walk

~ Soft TV is my new favourite genre of TV

~ Read about really old trees and what they can tell us about the past

I made a pinata and we had a party..

Over late summer I made a papier mache pinata because I really needed a creative project. Originally it started as a bit of a joke, but it was fun to make and pretty cathartic to smash this weekend with friends. There's no other time I can think of where you get to wield a big stick...
